Sometimes a big shrimp can do the trick. Despite the size, it’s transparent and not chunky. I wanted a bigger shrimp pattern with nice movement, where I can use the biggest feathers on a speycape. I decided not to palmer the hackle – the fly would have become too big and bulky – rather a rip bunches of fibers from the stem. Tying in the fibers that way gives the opportunity to give the head the shape wanted.

We Got the big bottles in Raidzap. These will firtsly come in Thin, and in Flex mode. 2.2 oz ( 66 ml. ). All in one box. Including a brush you can use for give your fly on the vice a very thin layer and cure the layer with any UV light. The bottles are with safety seal, that have to be removed before use. The bottles have a thin big tip for pressing out the UV Resin…..
Raidzap Thin is a bit thinner than Medium. It has the very slight viscosity. Used to the smaller flies, to the last thin layer, or to the small heads.
Raidzap Flex is the most flexible UV resin we have developed for fly tying. It is so flexible that it can bend without breaking or splitting. Perfect for forming baitfish flies or using the adhesive for your flyline loops, where a flexible adhesive is required to glue the loop together. Bounding to plastic, metal etc.

We Got these shrimps in from Christian Krogh in Denmark. He writes……
I love to tie shrimp flies, and I am very inspired by Jonatan Ternald’s shrimp flies. They are quite challenging to tie and take for me a lot of time to bind, but with a little practice and the right materials they can become very lifelike in the water. There is ample opportunity to vary the look and in this variant I have tried to make a version that comes as close to a real live shrimp as possible. The challenge is for me to put my legs firmly and at the same time be fairly straight, and with Raidzap, I glue my legs firmly with a small drop of glue and attach them to the body. When I’m happy with the location, the legs get a drop of glue more to attach them completely. In the end, there is a back skirt that is just super fat, and makes a nice finish with a thin layer of Raidzap Medium and Thin. Then it’s just off to the coast for seatrouts…..

Shrimp tying by Patrik Herlet from Sweden. He made this Srimps for the swedish seatrout. Shrimp can be dangerous on the low water for sea trout. You will find materials at the bottom of the blog post.!
For the picky trouts I wanted a shrimppattern that looks more realistic. Therefore I decided to give it a rather transparent body by using seals fur in a natural color. And of course there have to be legs on a semirealistic shrimp. In order to make it simple and to spare time I used Easy Shrimp Legs 2.0 instead of messing around with siliconeribs. As shield I used a transparent flexiskin with black dots to let the colour of the seals fur shine thru. And last but not least – I always want my flies to be durable – I gave the shield a coating of the best UV-Resin ever: RaidZap
