Description
The first bobbin on the market that allows you to choose the length of the tube. Choose between the trout (short head) or the predator (large head) to give you a custom fit for the size of your hand or fly.
The steel carbide tubes draw the heat away from your thread so you won’t damage the thread.
To swap heads unscrew the head on the bobbin and remove it. Take the other tube and head and slide them onto the bobbin, select the tube length, and tighten.
It could not be easier!
We put the choice in your hands…

The Raidzap Xact Bobbin is a pleasure to tie with. I chose the predator style bobbin for tying classic salmon and steelhead flies. The Predator bobbin is versatile in adjusting tube length to fit your hand. Most importantly it allows precise thread control. A beautifully designed tool.
You will not find a better fly bobbin anywhere!

I bought this bobbin as a recommendation from a buddy and I have to say that it performs super well, is incredibly comfortable in my hand, and allows me to make adjustments to the bobbin itself that I didn’t know would be worth while. Keeps the right amount of tension and allows me to use super delicate threads without breaking them. Totally would recommend.

This bobbin is simply the best! All my other bobbins are in a pile now. Not only does this bobbin handle any size hook with its customizable tips it never frays the thread. The tension is always right no matter the size of thread. The weight in your hand is also a plus. I’ve been tieing for a long time and this bobbin is fantastic.

I received one of these bobbins in the mail yesterday and I’m very impressed. It’s quite comfortable in-hand (with both tube lengths) and the thread runs silky smooth with the thread tension that the bobbin offers.

People that know me well, know that I have been tying for nearly 20 years with the same, single, bobbin holder I got with my first fly tying kit. I tried a bunch of times to add to my collection, but every time I did, either there was a nick in one or it wasn’t comfortable to use, etc. The RaidZap Xact Bobbin came highly recommended so I decided to give it a shot. I am now a full convert. It feels great in the hand, and the weight of the tool, are a huge help in the “drop bobbin” technique, for mounting featherwings on classic salmon flies. I’ve also used it to tie everything from trout flies to hollow fleyes for stripers. The adjustable length tube comes in very handy. I’ll be picking up a few more to have in my arsenal for sure. You should too.
